There is nothing wrong with couponing as a financial practice, as long as you are being rational and not overzealous with it. The problem is that many people who get into couponing end up pretty much addicted to the whole thing and start causing themselves and their family more harm than good.
There is really no point in extreme couponing. During the time you spent scouring everything for coupons, you could have earned twice as much money. Also, with extreme couponing, you often end up with unnecessary stuff that you end up throwing out or wasting in some other way.
Our advice would be to be smart about couponing. Do not make it the focal point of your life or even your grocery shopping experience. Sure, it can come in handy, but you should never go out of your way when doing it.
