Giving up your favorite foods is the toughest part about weight loss for many of us who enjoy junk food.

But what if you didn’t crave those foods? There’s a new diet that retrains your brain to like healthy food. Three workers at the Museum of Science all have something in common – weight loss success, said Jennifer Sullivan, an employee.

“This program is the first time in my life that I really believe that this is the way it is going to be for the rest of my life.”

She lost 70 pounds in one year on a science-based weight loss program called iDiet, developed by Dr. Susan Roberts, a researcher at Tufts University. She said the key is eliminating the junk food addiction.

“Fundamentally, it’s about reducing hunger right down and retraining people’s brains so that they actually like the healthy food that’s good for them and not tempted by junk.”

The first two weeks are pretty strict as there is no dining out or alcohol.

“That starts the cognitive restructuring that Dr. Roberts talks about and gets your brain to change and crave different things.”
