When people want to lose weight, one of the first things that comes to their minds is the decision to go on a diet. However, newest research tells us that dieting, in fact, isn’t a very effective method of staying lean, and that we should instead change our eating habits and simply eat healthier things.
According to a study published on October 29th in The Lancet Diabetes And Endocrinology, choosing low-fat products over regular ones makes little to no difference when it comes to weight loss. When compared to a low-carb, high-fat diet, the low-fat one actually made people lose 2.5 pounds less on average. A different study, however, showed that the intensity of the diet itself mattered much more than the type of the diet. Logically, people who stuck to their diets more strictly and for longer periods of time lost more weight.
To summarize, the type of diet you choose isn’t as important as sticking to it. Avoid processed foods and introduce more plant-based foods into your diet and you will shed that extra weight in no time.
